Description

Few sensations compare to gliding over the treetops while the Pacific Ocean sparkles in the distance. In the hills surrounding Los Sueños, the upscale marina and golf enclave just north of Jaco, this canopy tour pairs pure adrenaline with some of the most spectacular coastal views in the country.

The adventure begins with a 15-minute ride aboard a specially adapted tractor that rumbles up farm roads to the top of the mountain. There, your bilingual guides fit your harness, double-check every piece of gear and calmly walk you through braking and safety techniques. No previous experience is needed; all you need is the urge to fly.

The descent covers about 3.5 kilometers of cable between 12 platforms set in trees and on natural lookouts. The longest line stretches roughly 2,400 feet and launches you across the valley with Herradura Bay, Herradura Island and the Gulf of Nicoya spread out beneath your feet. Between lines, keep your eyes open: on this 80-acre reserve, half of it protected under Costa Rica's national forest conservation program, scarlet macaws, chestnut-mandibled toucans and white-faced capuchins are frequent visitors.

When you touch down on the final platform, a well-earned break awaits with fresh tropical fruit and cold water, the perfect moment to swap videos and relive the best moments. It is a great activity for families, couples and groups alike, and it pairs beautifully with an afternoon at the beach or a sunset drink at the Los Sueños marina.
